Mr. Joaquín Poch BrotoPresident of Real Academia Nacional de Medicina de España

Joaquín Poch Broto holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Universidad Complutense (Madrid). He completed further studies at Montpellier (Professor Guerrier) and Strasbourg (Professor Grenner). Since 1984 he is Professor in Otorhinolaryngology at Universidad Complutense (Madrid) and Head of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at Hospital Clínico San Carlos (Madrid). From 2006 until 2011 he was Medical Director at Hospital Clínico San Carlos (Madrid). He has authored numerous published papers on neurosensory deafness and head and neck tumors as well as on skull base surgery, fields in which he is a highly renowned authority. He is an Academic Fellow of the Royal National Academy of Medicine of Spain since 1989. He was Vice President of the Royal National Academy of Medicine of Spain from 2009 until 2012, and he is President of said institution since 2012.
