Fernando López holds a Bachelor's Degree in Hispanic Philology and a Master's degree in Spanish Language and professional practices from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He has been teaching Spanish as a foreign language since 1986 and has taught in Tanzania, Egypt, Spain, Morocco, the United Kingdom, Syria and Poland.
Head of Studies at the Instituto Cervantes since 2000, he has organized and taught numerous training courses for teachers in different academic areas both online and online. Currently he is coordinator of the Spanish Department of the United Nations Language Program in New York.
